If the cold weather is keeping you and your child indoors and you are concerned that he/she is not getting enough exercise, consider yoga as a low-key exercise that you can do together.
Whether you are an experienced yogi or a novice, yoga has great benefits for you and your child. Yoga builds strength, encourages flexibility and balance, and has an overall calming effect on the body and mind.
At Mindy’s Little Sidekicks, we practice yoga at least once a day. Yoga is a great way to scaffold large motor skills as well as work towards emotional management, which young children often struggle with.
If you are interested in getting out of the house to practice, click here for links to local studios that have classes specifically for children.
If you would prefer to practice at home, visit the CosmicKids.com website for free videos and information.
